About the Planning and Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission helps guide how the city grows and develops. They review proposed changes to zoning rules and land‑use regulations and then make recommendations to the City Council. They also look at requests for things like site plans, special permits, and planned developments. When someone wants to divide land into lots, the commission reviews and approves those plans as well. They give input on the city’s long‑term Comprehensive Plan, and members also serve on the committee that advises on the city’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
